Heinrich Juritsch, MD for LTE in Austria, looks back on the challenges of the past months and is looking forward to the more exciting ones in the near future. Because now everything is back on track.

“Well, of course we also got a black eye,” he admits, “but apparently it takes a crisis to realize what we as LTE can do. The flexibility that the company has shown is rooted in the far-sighted know-how and the enthusiasm the past few months demanded from us.” For two months we had home office and working-time reductions, but the actual cost explosions accompanied by a lower order volume, were largely prevented by our flexibility, for example in the area of our fleet.
“If you consider how state railways have dealt with the crisis and the results, we can be proud of us. In the tried and tested manner and thanks to substantial financial injections they continued to make life hard for private railway companies.“ Therefore, in addition to plain commitment, ideas from the public sector will also be needed to straighten out the imbalance. For example through a long-term harmonization of European train path prices, as our CEO Andreas Mandl demands like a mantra.
When it comes to emphasizing one's own qualities, Juritsch is in the fortunate position of pointing out the proven services of LTE-group. “Here in Graz, in Austria's car cluster, we are of course pleased to enjoy the trust of brands like Ford, BMW, Jaguar/Landrover and Suzuki. For us, however, an important focus is also on the intermodal business, the container traffic." This closes the circle once more, because here too, the proverbial know-how, flexibility and enthusiasm in the group are in demand: "We don't have to reinvent the wheel, maybe readjust it a little, because a transport concept is not really much in the beginning first,” Juritsch says, apparently modestly, “choosing routes, keeping slots, meeting deadlines and costs and enabling optimal interlinking with the forwarding agent.” Sounds simple, but this plan has to be guaranteed. To ensure that it stays that way, “in addition to our 24/7 service center, which accompanies all transports in real time, we have a network of state-of-the-art locomotives and multilingual engine drivers at our disposal in an emergency. With this we can prove to our clientele that LTE does not make mere promises, but that precisely functioning transports are part of our daily business. "
