"I am basically a train driver working as a specialists trainer," Ronald outlines his areas of competence, "responsible for on-site training, route training, engine series training and also training of internal regulations." In coordination with the management, he develops classes, which his colleagues must attend and pass regularly. But in case of unforseen events on the network of routes, he has to update his colleagues as well. „Otherwise it would mean risking to lose one’s drivers license." He knows exactly how to prevent this, because the love of rail and the team spirit among the train drivers always powers them to top collegial performance, especially at LTE.
"I was infected by the virus, the so-called 'locomotive breath', as a child," Ronald remembers, who grew up on and "in" the railway, because his childhood impressions of the cockpit finally led him - with a short intermezzo - to his ultimate goal for life: the training course to become a train driver, which finally got him to LTE." He always points out the many advantages of the job, which more than outweigh the few downsides. "The working hours still keep many people from hiring with us, but there are temptations that you shouldn't resist: apart from the good salary, the fair working time regulations of the industry in particular create a good work-life balance, which allows ambitious adventures as well as a fulfilling family life.”
His private passion is also travelling, which is understandable, "because even though I can enjoy the world from my cockpit at any time of the day or night, my girlfriend and I are drawn to the most beautiful places in Europe." As his girlfriend originates from Romania, they visited Iași, but Ljubljana or Paris were also on schedule, so that last but not least, Ronald could act out his photographic passion. „So the story has come full circle, because we are actually always on the move: all moveo, ergo sum, all LTE."
