From 2019 to the end of 2022, the trimodal container terminal of the port of Linz was extensively expanded and fully electrified. This means that a total of six 740 meters-block train tracks are now available and the number of container slots was raised to approx. 6,000 TEU. To underline the continuous importance of this sustainable logistics hub for the region, a new train connection from Linz to Antwerp was recently launched, serviced once a week by LTE AT. This makes LTE the first rail company to handle its trains fully "electrified" at the container terminal Linz.
"Of course, we are very happy that we can carry out this regular transport with our proverbial LTE reliability and last but not least an impressive price-performance ratio," says Heinrich Juritsch, MD of LTE AT about this success. "Pioneering achievements and the resulting rewards are always the best motivation for us here in Austria and for the entire LTE-group."
With its currently 13 subsidiaries in almost all of Europe the LTE-group lives the vision of their mastermind Andres Mandl on a daily basis, using state-of-the-art equipment and the impressive know-how of the team to make the borders within Europe disappear, according to their motto: moveo ergo sum.
