"Let me win. But if I can't win, then let me be brave in the attempt" is the motto of those who have worked with all their might for Special Olympics since 1968. Back then, the initiative was launched by Eunice Kennedy-Shriver, a sister of the former US President. The background was the disability of her sister Rosemary after a lobotomy. Today, the initiative is represented by 5.2 million athletes in 174 countries, including Europe for around 30 years.

LTE-group has been supporting this initiative in Austria for years and can therefore be very happy about their success with the extensive team consisting of athletes, trainers and the numerous organizational talents behind the scenes. Nicole Koch, national director of the Ö office in Schladming (Austria), looks back on these successes just as happily as on the two exciting weeks in Berlin.
"As soon as we arrived, we could see that the Berliners had attached some importance to this event, because there was decoration around the exhibition center and in the middle of the city center at the Red Town Hall, which was easy for us to recognize," she remembers. "This joy was briefly spoiled by short downpours in Berlin, but another rain more than made up for this drop of bitterness from an Austrian point of view: the days of the athletes were almost drenched in medal rain, and the team was therefore able to return home equipped with 45 trophies.
When the athletes returned home, they were met by Federal President Alexander van der Bellen who invited the team to the Hofburg and, together with Sports Minister Werner Kogler, expressed his joy at their extraordinary success.
One last word about lived unity and friendship: We are also happy about your top performances, your will to win and your willingness to make an effort in a highly professional manner, according to our motto: Moveo ergo sum.
